YOU WILL NEVER DIE

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today

wisdom 072915

Many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother (Lazarus, who had died).  When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him; but Mary sat at home.  Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.”

Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise.”  Martha said to Him, “I know he will rise, in the resurrection on the last day.”  Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and anyone who lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this?”  She said to Him, “Yes, Lord.  I have come to believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.”

From the Gospel of John 11: 19-27

Reflections:

*Do you believe this too?

*Do you still need proof so as to believe?

*Is Jesus your savior and friend?

WHY DO YOU WEEP?

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, April 07, 2015 (Easter Tuesday)

wisdom 040715

Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.

And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the Body of Jesus had been.

And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?”  She said to them, “They have taken my Lord, and I don’t know where they laid him.”

When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?  Who are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.”

Jesus said to her, “Mary!”  She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni,” which means Teacher.

Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father.  But go to my brothers and tell them, “I am going to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

Mary went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and what He told her.

-From the Gospel of John 20: 11-18

Reflections:

  • What makes us weep?
  • Who can comfort us during these moments?
  • Have we ever comforted others in their own weeping moments?
