“The Lord is just in all His ways and holy in all His works.  The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.”

Psalm 145:17-18

A NEW CREATION

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, June 13, 2015:

wisdom 061315

So WHOEVER IS IN CHRIST IS A NEW CREATION: THE OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, NEW THINGS HAVE COME.

And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and given us the ministry of reconciliation, namely God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

SO WE ARE AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST, as if God were appealing through us.  We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  For our sake He made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

– From 2 Corinthians 5: 14-21

Reflections:

*Would we like to be a new creation?

*Have we discovered Christ already?

*Will we be willing to be one of His ambassadors on earth?

Be renewed in Him,

WHY ARE YOU TESTING ME?

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, June 03, 2015

wisdom 060315

Some Pharisees and Herodians were sent to Jesus to ensnare Him in His speech.

They came and said to Him, “Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man and that you are not concerned with anyone’s opinion.  You do not regard a person’s status but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.  Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?  Should we pay or should we not pay?”

Knowing their hypocrisy He said to them, “WHY ARE YOU TESTING ME?  Bring me a denarius to look at.”

They brought one to Him and He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”  They replied to Him, “Caesar’s.”

So Jesus said to them, “REPAY TO CAESAR WHAT BELONGS TO CAESAR AND TO GOD WHAT BELONGS TO GOD.”

They were utterly amazed at him.

-From the Gospel of Mark 12: 13-17

Reflections:

*Do we faithfully pay our responsibilities as citizens of our country?

*Do we continue to test God in our daily lives?

*Why do we continue to question His wisdom?

POSTERITY

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, June 01, 2015:

wisdom 060115

BLESSED THE MAN WHO FEARS THE LORD, WHO GREATLY DELIGHTS IN HIS COMMANDS. HIS POSTERITY SHALL BE MIGHTY UPON THE EARTH; THE UPRIGHT GENERATION SHALL BE BLESSED.

His generosity shall endure forever.  Light shines through the darkness for the upright; he is gracious and merciful and just.

Well for the man who is gracious and lends, who conducts his affairs with justice; he shall never be moved; the just man shall be in everlasting embrace.

–  From Psalms 112: 1-6

+++

Reflections:

*Is fear of the Lord still in us?

*Do we still think before we talk or act?

*Do we conduct our affairs with justice?

Saint of the Day:

St. Justin, pray for us.

Fear Him,

Brother Mo

HAVE FAITH

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, May 29, 2015:

wisdom 052915

Jesus said to them in reply,

“HAVE FAITH IN GOD.  Amen, I say to you, WHOEVER SAYS TO THIS MOUNTAIN, ‘BE LIFTED UP AND THROWN INTO THE SEA,’ AND DOES NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART BUT BELIEVES THAT WHAT HE SAYS WILL HAPPEN, IT SHALL BE DONE FOR HIM.

Therefore I tell you, ALL THAT YOU ASK FOR IN PRAYER, BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IT AND IT SHALL BE YOURS.

WHEN YOU STAND TO PRAY, FORGIVE ANYONE AGAINST WHOM YOU HAVE GRIEVANCE, SO THAT YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER MAY IN TURN FORGIVE YOU YOUR TRANSGRESSIONS.”

– From the Gospel of Mark 11: 22-25

+++

Reflections:

*What is bigger in us, doubt or faith?

*Do we pray with great faith or do we pray with great doubt?

*Have we forgiven those who have caused us grievance before praying?

St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, pray for us.

HAVE PITY ON ME

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, May 28, 2015

wisdom 052815

As Jesus was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a sizable crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind man, the son of Timaeus, sat by the roadside begging.

On hearing that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, son of David, HAVE PITY ON ME.”  And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent.

But he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, HAVE PITY ON ME.”  Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”  So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”

HE THREW ASIDE HIS CLOAK, SPRANG UP, AND CAME TO JESUS.

Jesus said to him in reply, “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO FOR YOU?”

The blind man replied to him, “MASTER, I WANT TO SEE.”

Jesus told him, “GO YOUR WAY; YOUR FAITH HAS SAVED YOU.”

Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.

–  From the Gospel of Mark 10: 46-52

+++

Reflections:

*How strong is our faith in Him?

*Have we ever asked for pity from Him?

*If He asks us, “What do you want me to do for you?”, what is our answer?

St. Mary Ann of Jesus of Paredes, pray for us.

THE LIGHT OF HIS KINDNESS

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, May 27, 2015:

wisdom 052715

SHOW US, O LORD, THE LIGHT OF YOUR KINDNESS

Remember not against us the iniquities of the past; may your compassion quickly come to us, for we are brought very low.  Help us, O God our savior, because of the glory of your name; deliver us and pardon our sins for your name’s sake.

Let the prisoners’ sighing come before you; with your great power free those doomed to death.  Then we, your people and the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; through all generations we will declare your praise.

– From Psalms 79: 8,9,11,13

+++

Reflections:

*Do we feel His kindness every single day?

*Do we ask for His mercy and compassion?

*Do we give thanks day in and day out?

+++

Saint of the Day:

St. Augustine of Canterbury, pray for us.

He will always be kind,

Brother Mo
