Will You Approve?

From the humble Apostle Paul…

020316b

“People refuse to keep in mind the true knowledge about God, he has given them over to corrupted minds, SO THAT THEY DO THE THINGS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT DO.

They are filled with all kinds of wickedness, evil, greed, and vice; they are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, deceit, and malice.

They gossip and speak evil of one another; they are hateful to God, insolent, proud and boastful; they think of more ways to do evil; they disobey their parents; they have no conscience; they do not keep their promises, and they show no kindness or pity for others.

THEY KNOW THAT GOD’S LAW SAYS THAT PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THIS WAY DESERVE DEATH.  YET, NOT ONLY DO THEY CONTINUE TO DO THESE VERY THINGS, BUT THEY EVEN APPROVE OF OTHERS WHO DO THEM.”

(Romans 1: 28-32)

I WANT TO. BE CLEAN.

soulfood 010715

One day, in another town, a man came to Jesus covered with leprosy.  On seeing Jesus, the man bowed down to the ground, and said, “LORD, IF YOU WANT TO, YOU CAN MAKE ME CLEAN.”

Stretching out His hand, Jesus touched the man and said, “Yes, I want to.  Be clean.”  In an instant, the leprosy left him.

Then Jesus instructed him, “TELL THIS TO NO ONE.  BUT GO, AND SHOW YOURSELF TO THE PRIEST.  MAKE AN OFFERING FOR YOUR HEALING, as Moses prescribed; that will served as evidence for them.

From the Gospel of Luke 5: 12-16

Reflections:

  1.  When we ask for healing, do we humbly ask Him first if He wants to heal us?
  2. If healed, can we keep our excitement and thankfulness to ourselves?
  3. What did we offer to Him when we were once healed?

St. Raymond of Penafort, pray for us.

St. Raymond of Pennafort, Patron Saint of Canonists (Feast day – January 7) Born in Spain, St. Raymond was a relative of the King of Aragon. From childhood he had a tender love and devotion to the Blessed Mother. He finished his studies at an early age, and became a famous teacher. He then gave up all his honors and entered the Order of the Dominicans. St. Raymond was very humble and very close to God. He did much penance and was so good and kind that he won many sinners to God. With King James of Aragon and St. Peter Nolasco he founded the Order of Our Lady of Ransom. The brave religious of this Order devoted themselves to saving poor Christians captured by the Moors.  Read more…

PLEASE REMEMBER ME

Our One Minute Wisdom for Today, June 04, 2015:

wisdom 060415

TO YOU, O LORD, I LIFT MY SOUL.

In you I trust; let me not be put to shame, let not my enemies exult over me.

No one who waits for you shall be put to shame; THOSE SHALL BE PUT TO SHAME WHO HEEDLESSLY BREAK FAITH.

Your ways, O Lord, make known to me; teach me your paths, Guide me in truth and teach me, for you are God my savior.

Remember that our compassion, O Lord, and your kindness are from of old.

IN YOUR KINDNESS REMEMBER ME, BECAUSE OF YOUR GOODNESS, O LORD.

Good and upright is the Lord; thus He shows sinners the way.

HE GUIDES THE HUMBLE TO JUSTICE, HE TEACHES THE HUMBLE HIS WAY.

– From Psalms 25: 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9

Reflections:

*Do we still put our trust in the Lord?

*Do we still allow Him to guide our dreams, decisions and actions?

*Do we still pray that He remember us at the end of our earthly lives?
